About Paint 3D
Paint 3D is Microsoft’s creative tool that combines classic 2D drawing with easy-to-use 3D modeling. First released in 2017 as part of the Windows 10 Creators Update, it lets anyone sketch, paint, and build three-dimensional scenes without prior design experience.
Although Microsoft discontinued Paint 3D in November 2024 to focus on the classic Paint app, the software still runs flawlessly on modern Windows systems. On this page you can download the original, unmodified installer (64.5 MB) and start creating right away — no Microsoft Store required.

How to Download & Install Paint 3D
Follow these simple steps to get Paint 3D running on your Windows 10 or 11 PC.
Click the Download button
Press the “Download Paint 3D” button above. Your download (approx. 64.5 MB) will begin automatically.
Open the downloaded file
Once the download finishes, go to your Downloads folder and double-click the Paint 3D installer file.
Confirm the installation
If Windows asks for permission, click “Yes” to allow the app to install. The setup completes within a couple of minutes.
Launch from the Start menu
After installation, open the Start menu, find Paint 3D in your apps list, and click to launch it.
Start creating
Click “New” to open a blank canvas and explore the toolbar. You’re ready to draw, paint, and build in 3D!
